Chapter 2
Chapter Two..
Unlocking Her Gift..
Seeing The Future…
That night Tricia dozed off the sleeping pill in her palms, in her dreams she saw the shooting star shine forth passing through a tiny village…
And then she saw it, a lady coming to there home to threaten them and burn down the homes of the neighbours..
The next morning she ran out of her family’s hut screaming…
“We need to leave this place right now.”
Everyone paused there duties and stared at her like she had gone crazy.
“ What is going on with you dear, you seem tense?.” Her mother touched her forehead checking if she had a fever.
Tricia removed her mother’s hand, she believed her dream so much and tried to persuade them, just then the generous man came to there neighborhood once again..
“Let’s go maybe he’s here to give us more money.” The people crowded him expectantly hoping that he would feel there bowls like the last time but rather he kicked it away..
“ I have an offer for you, I will give each and everyone of you 1million dollars if you vacate this premises immediately.” Mr Smith announced.
The people were confused, some of them excitedly accepted the offer.
Tricias mother also went forward, but Tricia stood still she was not happy about this.
“If that is everyone then, I want you to burn this place to the ground.” Mr Smith turned to his workers, lifting his sunglasses in the air he made a dramatic turn.
The people danced off there sorrows they had become wealthy overnight they took off, who needed to be in those wretched houses anymore.
“We might be poor, but we are not accepting your money.”
Everyone paused and stared at her. A man took Tricia aside and tried to calm her down.
“Listen dear, do you want to remain poor forever this generous man is about to change our lives for the better, do not ruin our chances.” The man pleas fell on deaf ears.
Tricia had made up her mind, the plot to burn down the houses were a part of Mr Smith’s Uncle’s plan.
There was a statue hidden in that environment he needed to use it, taking it would place a curse on him. But if Mr Smith were to burn down the houses that could put a curse on his own health.
“Burn everything down, including anything that tries to stop you.” Mr Smith ordered. The men hesitated as Tricia stood like a shield before her mother’s house..
“Sir why don’t we burn down the other houses and leave theirs alone, if they want to remain beggars why stop them.” A worker adviced amidst laughter.
Nodding his head in approval, the workers began the fire.
Tricias mother remembered what she had said earlier.
“Didnt you dream about this dear, do you suddenly have super powers?.”
Tricia hugged her mother tightly.
“I do not know what came over me mother, today I have ruined our chances of being rich. This is all my fault.”
Tricia wept on her mother’s shoulder, even she did not understand why her daughter suddenly became a tigress but she believed it was for the best.
Smoke filled the air, the remnants that remained could barely breathe, they kept on coughing.
“Open the windows, no, no, close them.” Tricias mother was confused.
Tricias sister Evelyn was furious.
“How could you ruin our future Tricia, a golden opportunity came and kicked it away like a devil.”
Tricias eyes dropped, she really did not understand why she did what she did..
Tricias sister continued ranting until she could not take it anymore..
“That is enough!!!.”” Tricia yelled and stormed off..
Talking a walk around there tiny yard, she looked around as her eyes took in the burnt surroundings.
Tears stood in her eyes.
“You..” A familiar voice called from behind, his legs snapping twigs in two he was feeling proud, cocky.
“I knew your stubbornness would put you in deep trouble, but it happened sooner than I thought.”
Dan her highschool bully approached her, he had hated her for so many years.
Dan always thought he was the most handsome guy in school, but after failing to woo Tricia, he finally made her his enemy.
Dan pushed Tricia and she fell into the pit, she was taken aback by his gesture. While trying to get up her hand touched something solid..
“What is this?.” Tricia held the statue in her hands, the eyes of the statue locked on hers striking the inner most part of her soul.
Dan still standing above her sneered, he looked at the statue and walked away..
Meanwhile Mr Smith sat in his room thinking about what had happened earlier.
“You mean that girl refused to leave even after offering them so much?.” Mr Smiths uncle asked in shock, after hearing what took place.
He sent his goons to search the area for a small statue and bring it back to him.
“ Why are you so interested in that disgusting part of town Uncle, those people are nothing but beggars.”
Mr Smith walked away not waiting for an answer..
“If history repeats itself, and that girls gift is restored then I will be doomed.” Mr Smiths Uncle Spoke to himself.
“I need to think of a way to keep her close to me at all times, make her trust me and then when she least expects it, I shatter her trust..” Me Smiths Uncle smiled, he was satisfied with his schemes.
Mr Smith was in his room, thinking about how unfair and cruel life has being to him.
Without his parents, the mansion was nothing but empty walls.
Mr Smith was extremely but he could not trust anyone, if anyone found out that he was a cancer patient they would have him kicked out of the board.
This was something he hid even from his Uncle.
Mr Smith needed to find someone trust worthy, someone who could take care of the company the way he would and soon.
